We saw this a few years ago...developer/builder guarantees. Looks like it's back once again. It's a pretty sound Investment idea as a buyer...that is as long as the developer/builder doesn't go under before it's time for them to buy it back from you!
Builder Offers Return Policy for Homes
A Houston builder has found a good way to reassure buyers that home prices won’t decline.
Stonemark Builders says it is offering to buy houses back for the same price if the owners decided to sell during the first two years they own the properties.
The 3,345-square-foot homes are priced at $733,500. They’re in an upscale section of town on the eastern edge of Lake Woodlands, and small parks and green space surround them.
Robert Sandman, president of Stonemark, says housing prices have stayed strong in that price bracket.
